Etymology: 1825–35 sight′se`er, n. usage: As a back formation from sightseeing this verb has only a present tense and a present participle, by which various past and future tenses can be formed: We were/had been sightseeing all day. We will be sightseeing for the next two hours. These tenses are also commonly expressed by the phrase go sightseeing.
